CHOOSING & LOVING the things we can’t control (beyond acceptance)
Acceptance will certainly serve us through this unprecedented time in our history as a people.
I have something for you today beyond acceptance that will serve you even more powerfully.
It’s called choosing & loving the things we can’t control.
There’s a certain sense of power, responsibility, and possibility present in CHOOSING & LOVING the things we can’t control that’s subtly distinct from ACCEPTING the things we can’t control.
This is something I haven’t yet attempted to articulate in writing.
Please let me know how this lands for you…
I think we can all acknowledge that there are things we can’t control.
What if you could choose those things?
What if you could love those things?
What if you could choose and love the pandemic?
Sounds a bit bizarre, I know.
Let me be very clear that I am NOT suggesting we love the suffering that’s happening around the world.
Not even close.
I’m sharing a way of thinking and being that gives us access to peace and power so we can serve the health and wellbeing of ourselves and others.
Let’s dive in.
See if you can first “try on” choosing life as it is.
See if you can choose what’s happening as it’s happening.
You might be thinking that you don’t have any other options, so wtf?
Is that true?
What other option is there?
You could RESIST life as it is.
What shows up when we resist life as it is (aside from resistance of course)?
Lack of peace, freedom, and possibility.
Choose life as it is or resist life as it is?
Choose the pandemic or resist the pandemic?
CHOOSING grants us access to being with (creating with, dancing with) whatever is happening.
What else can we choose as it is?
How about others?
How about ourselves?
I choose others exactly as they are.
I choose me exactly as I am.
I choose life exactly as it is.
Now I have the power and space to be with what is, and a clearing breaks wide open from which I can create life in a context of possibility.
Next, to take this even further, see if you can CHOOSE & LOVE life exactly as it is.
See if you can CHOOSE & LOVE others exactly as they are.
See if you can CHOOSE & LOVE you exactly as you are.
I choose and love life exactly as it is.
I choose and love others exactly as they’ve been created to be.
I choose and love me exactly as I’ve been created to be.
Now I can fully be with and love whatever and whomever.
Now I have access to a powerful, peaceful, and loving space from which to create life in alignment with who I am, and profoundly serve myself and others.
Are you willing to choose and love what is?
Are you willing to choose and love your journey exactly as it was, is, and will be?
Are you willing to choose and love the people in your life exactly as they’ve been created to be?
Are you willing to choose and love yourself exactly the way you’ve been created to be?
If you sincerely get to yes, please share with me one insight or one thing that opens up for you as a result.
What I read this morning in The Way of Mastery synchronistically aligns with what I’ve chosen to share with you today…
“Beloved friends, the essence of this lesson is quite simple: Where are you now? Are you willing to allow yourself to see everything around you and within you as the doorway to the Kingdom of Heaven, waiting only for you to acknowledge its presence and to open it? Are you willing to truly be right where you are—wholly, right where you are? And the mind says, ‘Well, of course. I’m on a spiritual path.’ Rest assured, if you look well into your feelings and find any trace of resistance, you have not yet made the necessary commitment that gives you the power to open that door.”
Many people are reinventing themselves, their work, and their lives through this pandemic.
Many are creating this lockdown experience as an opportunity for profound growth and from which to emerge stronger (in mind, body, and Spirit), happier, and more fulfilled than ever before in their life.
That’s the game I’m playing, too.
If you or someone you know (I) is willing to commit to playing at a higher level, (II) wants to create this lockdown experience as an opportunity, or (III) could really use some support through this pandemic, email firstname.lastname@example.org letting me know and we can discuss the possibility of remote coaching.
I’m sending you love and wishing you a wonderful week choosing and loving what is.
Believing in you,
